Wedding Photography at Whitehall Manor, Bluemont VA

Nick and Danielle were married at Whitehall Manor in Bluemont, VA. The venue is located at the base of the BlueRidge Mountains 1 hour from downtown Washington DC. (from Arlington, it’s a quick drive out 66). It’s an absolutely gorgeous location for a wedding. Their ceremony was held outside under a canopy of trees and the reception was held in the manor. The getting ready room for the bride is quite lovely with a mantle and full length oval mirror. Danielle and the girls were sweethearts. And the groomsmen were a kick to work with – photographers always appreciate men willing to do their take on the Fab Four’s running photo. I hope you enjoy looking through the album.

University of Maryland Wedding Photography

Justin and Maureen were married on a beautiful October day at the chapel at the University of Maryland in College Park. They were a wonderful couple to work with. You can view their album here – it’s easy to see what a great time they had at their wedding. Friends and family both cut the rug all night! As they are both U of M alumns and wanted their photographs to reflect the University of Maryland, we took the bridal portraits on campus. For their wedding album, they chose a 12 x 12 square leather album in coffee black with an image on the front of the album.

Wedding Photography at the Newton White Mansion

Tracie and Aaron were married at the Newton White Mansion in June. Tracie was incredibly calm and relaxed getting ready – I think it’s indicative of the kind of person she is, very at peace. Meanwhile Aaron and his groomsmen cracked jokes during the groom’s portrait session. Aaron is a musician and a true romantic. He serenaded Tracie on the dance floor! The Newton White is located in Mitchellville Maryland just outside of Washington DC. It is one of my favorite places to photograph weddings. Ceremonies take place near the fountain in back of the mansion. The golf course and mature trees make for a beautiful backdrop and the glass windows in the reception hall provide a stunning setting at dusk.

Great Washington DC area Venues for Wedding Photography

In the coming days and weeks, I will begin sharing photos from weddings at some of my favorite locations for wedding photography. But for now, I thought I would start by sharing some of these locations. Bristow Manor in Manassas, VA sits on a golf course and has a beautiful balcony as well as an old barn with a bit of character. River Farm in Alexandria VA is run by the American Horticultural Society. It overlooks the Potomac and has some beautiful gardens as well as quaint out buildings. Another of my favorite places for wedding photography is the Newton White Mansion in Mitchellville, Maryland. The big wall to ceiling glass windows are a dream for photographers at dusk. They provide a gorgeous backdrop for your wedding cake and an all around great setting for a reception. Mount Vernon Unitarian Church is another wonderful place for a garden wedding. Brick walkays and wooden fences connect a series of secret gardens – this makes for a fun game of dashing through the labrynth for bridal portraits without being seen by the groom.
