Another Cherry Blossom Engagement Session

We’re getting close! I’m seeing buds on some trees. And the weather is shaping up to be beautiful. Below is another cherry blossom engagement session photographed at the Tidal Basin in Washington DC. I met up with Tracy and Matt early in the morning after postponing due to a few days of cold drizzly rain. On this day, the weather started to break and we had some dramatic skies. Not too many other photographers were out due to the weather. The engagement session was part of Matt and Tracy’s wedding photography package. They were married a short time later in Northern Virginia. I was of course honored to have been chosen as their photographer.

Gay Weddings in Washington DC

On Tuesday, March 10th, Washington DC issued marriage licenses to gay couples. Some same sex couples married that very day while others are opting for a larger affair. Websites are springing up to help these couples navigate their way through all the details of wedding planning. Gayweddings.com is one such site. As a photographer, I hope to have the chance to work with some of these couples. To me, love is love and it’s a wonderful thing to watch through the lens of a camera. I have seen some of my fellow photographers produce beautiful work documenting the wedding ceremonies of both lesbian and gay male couples and I look forward to doing the same. For anyone from out of town, planning on traveling to DC for a wedding, I am located in Arlington just ten minutes from downtown DC.

Welcome to my new blog. I have dabbled in a little photo blogging previously but have just recently been able to truly integrate my blog into my website. I’m excited about this and looking forward to sharing photos from weddings and portrait and engagement shoots as well some of my favorite travel and more artistic photos. Comments are always welcome.
